STEM Education: Career Connection class

In recent years it has focused on math and science education and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) have been. Been since President Obama takes office, it seems that almost everyone on the go, "how important math and science teaching and / or we need our guys to help us create our future STEM workforce," a moving train. It seems more resources into the development of math and science education programs are implemented. Thoughwith all the attention on math and science, people are really do not pay attention to how and why we reached this point in the fields of education and our economy.

If you pay attention to the economies of the world's richest countries, have a strong academic education system, where the children draw in all or most of the disciplines. The reason why education is a strong economy are linked, because it is through education that is able to have employeeswho has the skills to work in the economy. When the United States had a strong economy and has the world's leading companies, we had a great education system. However, the current state of our education system is that the student not with the skills for jobs that are currently available in the Graduate of our economy. There are several reasons for this, but my main theory behind it is not enough children or parents think about their future as it relates to the connectiontheir education and their future profession.

I remember when I was little, I remember always knowing that I wanted to get good grades so I can go to college and was getting a good job. Even my colleagues who are not entitled to go to college, had some project in the sense of a work or business career after graduation. However, today's K-12 students and parents are missing the connection to their education and their future role in the world of work; This separation occurs in all socioeconomic strata. Why are people asking where all the work in progress? The question is what we require, I prepare myself and my children, for jobs, get the current economic situation and future?

We give our children a part of the future workforce in two respects: the search for trends in the industry in the United States and the world economy and encourage them to improve the academic and school experiencewith extracurricular activities. In the United States and the world economy. It is true that jobs disappear, and industries, but there are areas of the economy where there is a lot of jobs that go unfilled. The reasons for vacancies in some areas is because there are people with the skills and knowledge to have to do the job. The world is moving on well-trained workforce, which means that individuals in the future, a certain amount of skill orKnowledge base to be used. Most of the jobs in this new economy requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree, but there are some areas that require technical training only. The key to ensuring that your child has a place in the future labor force to work on trends and sectors of the economy, most of which are on the Department of Work and government websites to be found. As soon as it is the job trends, look at the academic subjects your child is strong and theirInterests and then leads to a career that is a part of the current economy and future. In STEM field, there are many jobs that already exist and is created as new fields in STEM arise every day.

The second thing we need to do is, our children see the connection between what they do in class today and their career opportunities in the future. There are great advantages for students who participate in extracurricular and achieve academicActivities. Votes in the classroom and standardized tests are the tools that are used are to measure student achievement. Students and parents should not wait until high school to see the importance of grades and standardized tests. There are political decisions for society as a whole, which are made on the basis of standardized test scores of third graders. In addition, the child path determined by their teachers and principals on the basis of the third degreeTest results as well. Therefore, parents should encourage and support academic performance from the first day the child comes to school, as in pre-K. An environment, promotes and supports the academic success: the control and you do homework with your child. It also includes tutorial support in the search topics, the students try to academic success can be guaranteed in all fields. The last part of the promotion of academic performance is a part of your childstandardized test preparation. There are countless studies showing that when parents play an active role in their children's education, children are at school.

The classroom should not be the only place where the students have learning experiences. Children should be in the extracurricular activities that take their interests and strengths to support. Students who are interested in mathematics and natural sciences, should participate in math and science competitions and clubs. Studentsshould also participate in the summer and after school in their interest. Finally, students must attend career fairs in events as possible in their interest to participate as visiting museums, etc.

The great thing is that education is to train not only a tool and to equip students with the necessary skills, but it opens our eyes to the possibilities to see. If we want a future STEM workforce, we need not only to our childrenSkills to achieve academic math and science, but allow them the opportunity to see a career in this field. The sooner our children to see this connection, the brighter the future.
