Long jumper Greg Rutherford claimed a stunning third gold medal for Great Britain on a glorious night at the Olympic Stadium. Greg Rutherford secured a gold for Team GB in the men?s long jump (Picture: AP) Rutherford, who headed the world rankings in 2012, took the lead in the second round with a jump of 8.21m and was never overtaken. He then jumped 8.31m in the fourth round to extend his lead. ?It?s the most amazing feeling in the world,? the self-styled ?Ginger Wizard? said after his win. The 25-year-old from Milton Keynes has been dogged by injuries. He became the first Briton to grasp Olympic long jump gold since Lynn Davies in 1964. Australia?s Mitchell Watt (8.16m) took silver and American Will Claye (8.12m) bronze, while Britain?s Chris Tomlinson (8.07m) had to settle for sixth.
