Preowned Gamers, Look Away Now
Although it?s not going to apply to every single game under their name, Ubisoft have confirmed that they will be introducing an online pass in similar fashion to those of Sony and EA. Under the new scheme, some of their most popular games will be shipped with a unique code that is required to access the game?s online capabilities.
This news comes only a week after we reported that the Playstation Network would be introducing a PSN Pass with the release of Resistance 3.
The first game to see the implementation of this new pass will be Driver: San Francisco, which is slated for release in the next few months, although no release date has been uniformly confirmed. The pass is called the Uplay?Passport, and if you?re one of the people who buys Ubisoft?s?games preowned, you?ll have to fork out the handsome fee of $9.99 or 800 MS points to join in the fun.

Share Your Thoughts: Has Sony paved the way for more publishers to introduce this kind of scheme, and if so, will it appear in every game, or just a handful of the most popular?
