Jurupa Hills baseball club rallies for wild 14-11 victory in nine innings

After trailing Rim of the World 6-1 in the second inning, the Jurupa Hills baseball team stormed back for a wild 14-11 win in nine innings on Tuesday.

The Spartans scored a run in the top of the seventh to tie the score at 11-11, and then they pushed across three runs in the ninth to elevate their record to 5-3 in the Mountain Valley League.

Louie Chavez had a great day for Jurupa Hills, going 4-for-6 with a double and three singles. ?He also scored three runs, drove in two runs, and stole a base. ?Plus, on defense, he was responsible for seven putouts and three assists at second base.

Chris Rocco bashed three hits and scored two runs, and Jeffrey Torres went 2-for-4 with a double, single, run, and RBI.

Garrett Wideen was 2-for-4 with a double, single, and run, and Matthew Hall was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. ?Tyler Benjamin singled twice and scored a run.

Salvador Mendez had a single, two runs, and drove in three runs, and Cesar Palos provided a single and two runs.

Rocco pitched very well in relief, allowing no hits or runs in the final four innings to gain the victory.
